What is Urban Heat Watch?
Urban Heat Watch is a groundbreaking Participatory Research Action project dedicated to building a vital knowledge hub on Urban Green Spaces, urban heat, and climate resilience. Our mission is to design collaborative strategies, projects, and policies that strengthen Urban Green Infrastructure, paving the way for equitable climate adaptation in the face of increasing urban heat.
Who We Are
Urban Heat Watch is led by the Agricultural University of Athens, with strong partnership support from the Region of Attica. Together, we aim to foster a greener, more resilient future for our urban communities.

Project Highlights
• Participatory Citizen Science Initiatives: Engage with extensive community-led research campaigns to map and measure urban heat impact.
• Advanced Mapping Techniques: Use thermal and optical drone (UAS) imaging, as well as satellite imagery, to accurately assess urban heat and vegetation cover.
• Urban Ecosystem Services Exploration: Investigate the benefits of green spaces for urban resilience and community well-being.
• Co-production of climate adaptation measures: Foster inclusive spaces for local community's input, ensuring realistic solutions that reflect local needs and values.
